Saturday, 23 July 1785 (Reading Mercury) John Kimber indicted for breaking into the dwelling house of Thomas Smith in the parish of Thatcham on 17th May 1785; and stealing therefrom a pair of leather breeches (valued at 20/-), a linen shirt (valued at 5/-), 3 linen handkerchiefs (valued at 3/-), a linen apron (valued at 1/-), a linen sheet (valued at 2/-) a cotton mantle (valued at 2/-) and 2 lace caps (valued at 1/-).
